Product Description:
The prepackaged magnesium anode is comprised of a cast magnesium anode placed centrally in a cloth bag filled with a highly hygroscopic backfill mix. This backfill mix consists of 75% gypsum, 20% bentonite, and 5% sodium sulfate. Subsequently, the assembly is securely enclosed in either a plastic or paper outer lining for shipping purposes, which should be removed before installation.
The efficiency of an anode can be significantly increased when pre-packaged with this depolarizing backfill. The unique mixture helps decrease the anode-to-soil resistance, facilitating a smoother flow of electrical current to the intended structure.
Our magnesium anode is constructed with the cable and joints sealed using epoxy resin. Engineered to meet the demanding requirements of fast-paced and high-efficiency construction projects, these prepackaged magnesium anodes are commonly applied for the cathodic protection of buried metallic structures in various soil resistivity conditions. Our backfill is prepared with naturally degradable and recyclable materials in the following weight ratio:

The content of harmful elements in the backfill is below the industrial safety standards, meaning it will not introduce any pollution to the surrounding environment.

Easy Installation
The prepackaged magnesium anode is appropriate for direct burial. This simplifies the on-site construction process, as some processes which traditionally took place on site (such as backfilling) are carried out in the factory prior to delivery, making for a convenient and fast installation. This helps to ensure the construction and installation quality of the anode ground bed remain consistent.
Multiple Cable Options
Our standard lead cable is 10ft. AWG #12 Solid THHN/THWN. Other options include PVC/PVC, XLPE/PVC, HMWPE or TW, which can be supplied in custom sizes, lengths and colors upon request. The cable can be connected by direct brazing, mechanical fastening or welding to ensure high pull strength and low connection resistance.

With the highest driving voltage (most negative electro-potential) among all materials utilized for sacrificial anodes, magnesium anode serves as an economical and efficient sacrificial anode, particularly in soil with medium to high resistivity (1,000 – 10,000 Ω·cm).
